Mahagi OSBP Infrastructure Upgrade

CMS- Asycuda World

Many Customs offices in East DRC still on ASYCUDA ++ or are still using a manual system to clear goods. TMA in partnership with the Directorate General of Customs (DGDA) and UNCTAD is supporting to fill the gap of the ASYCUDA World deployment in eastern DRC. The project is in line with TMA’s goal to reduce transport costs and times on main corridors. The project will streamline Customs procedures for faster clearance with less paperwork, increase country’s tax revenue generated from taxes on trade, provided by the DGDA increased compliance and adoption of better risk-based approaches to controlling borders. Kasenyi Port Infrastructure Upgrade

The Lake Albert providing access over water for trade to the city of Bunia and the hinterland until Kisangani. The project aims to rehabilitate the infrastructure at the Port.  The jetty will be renovated with the first 112 meters requiring a small amount of refurbishment but generally considered to be sound. The top surface of this 112 meters will be paved with reinforced concrete. The old fixed crane structure and rails crane will be dismantled and removed from the site. The remaining 51 maters of the jetty will be paved to take the weight of the mobile cranes. Capstans and new rails will be installed. Responsibility Center : 22_DRC Project approval summary: 1. Kalundu Port Infrastructure Upgrade

The Port is threatened by sedimentation at the port entrance. The sand bank has raised to the point where vessels accessing the port run a high risk of grounding. This also means that larger ships cannot access the port. The removal of the sand bank through dredging at the port is therefore necessary for its continued ability to service larger vessels.
