East African exports to the rest of the continent could be boosted by almost $1bn by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), according to the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).

The office for Eastern Africa of the ECA also said the AfCFTA could create between 500,000 and 1.9m jobs.
