KRA Collected Sh518 Billion

THE Kenya Revenue Authority nearly hit its Sh594.6 billion target in revenue collection over the past six months.

According to the COB report, KRA collected Sh518.3 billion, which translates into a performance rating of 94.2 per cent.

“The halfyear revenue collection increased by Sh47.5 billion or 10.1 per cent compared to Sh470.8 billion collected in the halfyear period of financial year 2013-14,” reads the report by Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo.

The report reviews budget implementation by the national government from July to December 2014.

Domestic taxes contributed the highest revenue at Sh338 billion, or 65.2 per cent of the total amount collected.

The customs services category ranked second by raising Sh178.2 billion while transport generated Sh2 billion.
